Today, Dr. Tiell asked for my help editing a manuscript that she created. Her primary concern was the use of the references. While reading the manuscript, I checked to make sure the references on the reference page were listed. I highlighted all of these references on the reference page. And I highlighted the references in the manuscript, which were not listed on the manuscript. At the end, I identified references that were both missing in the manuscript and on the references page. I then sent the documents back to Dr. Tiell. She told me that my help helped her fix up first name/last name issues as well.

Today was another day of racking up my hours. I managed to finish all of the alumni of 2014, as well as some of 2015. It was tough to find some of the contact information that is typically found in resumes. A lot of the profiles either didn’t have attached a resume, or the students simply left out the top parts. So I had to use Google to try and find the information like I did for the grads in 2012 and below. I was thinking that the links would provide me with the additional information. But sometimes I got lucky with my Google searches! I also recorded a couple of broken links for Dr. Tiell. She mentioned to me earlier this week that she might have something in store for me with a former VP of the NBA. I am excited about this potential opportunity.
Today was a long day spent on the alumni project. I figured out some problems and I emailed Dr. Tiell about some corrections to the original list. It was helpful to Google search some of the former students. I searched for their connections to Tiffin University or to the place of mentorship, such as "John Doe and Tiffin University" or "John Doe and the Pittsburgh Penguins". I also tried to search for their current place of work, found on LinkedIn, to try to retrieve some contact information. My day also consisted of designing the group page for Tiffin alumni. I created a question but only two people have replied so far. I have 11 people in the group. I plan to go back and email every person I invited to remind them of the invitation to the group. Everyday now, I wish those alumni a happy birthday to stay connected to them. I feel like I accomplished a lot today.
