Today, I was able to identify a few problems with the original list of mentorships and alumni. I caught a couple of misspellings of names that I reported back to Dr. Tiell to fix. I also found out that some of the alumni were also married. Day 2 of the new project was just another day of lots of researching. One of the problems that I have to do something about was that the group I set up on LinkedIn only has one person in it so far.

Just a couple days ago, Dr. Tiell introduced me to a brand new project that would require a lot of work. The project was simple at first mention. I only had to retrieve contact information of alumni and current students of the MBA Sport Management program. She also wanted me to make a group page for each person on LinkedIn.
As I started from the bottom of the list on the TUInternships site, I realized that they didn't have a link to their own website. That presented one of the problems as I could not retrieve information such as the type of mentorship job, phone number, hometown, etc. I then tried LinkedIn and it became incredibly hard to find some people. Either they had a common name, didn't list some information, or just didn't have a LinkedIn profile. Most of the contact information I had to leave blank. I did create a group page and I added whoever connected with me. Before I sent a request, I left them a note about who I was and that I am trying to add everyone. |
