About Me
Hello! My name is Matthew Baker and welcome to my mentorship page! I currently reside in one of the most popular towns in the U.S.A.: Frankenmuth, Michigan. I am an alumnus of Saginaw Valley State University (Saginaw, Michigan) where I obtained a Bachelor degree in Business Administration (Management). I have also previously attended Delta College (Saginaw, Michigan). As of now, I am attending Tiffin University, in pursuit of an M.B.A. in Sports Management.
I love everything business and sports. Ever since I was a little boy, I have attended various sporting events on a regular basis. Baseball is my favorite sport and the Detroit Tigers are my team. I am also a fan of every professional team in Michigan, and, of course, the Michigan State Spartans. I grew up playing in youth soccer leagues and was a 4-year football manager in high school. In regards to business, my father has worked for MetLife the past 35 years, so I have always been around that kind of environment. My long-term goals are to either work in baseball or intercollegiate sports as an executive in some capacity. I also want to own my own sports business.
I do have an everyday challenge: a disability. I started to develop it in middle school: MD (Muscular Dystrophy). I also have a hearing loss. I am a positive guy and I don’t let it get me down no matter how tough it is. I envision myself as a role model for people with disabilities.
